Through a combination of classroom theory and hands-on training, students will be taught definitions, laws, principles, practices and application methods associated with matter and energy, electricity, magnetism and the refrigeration process. Management and Business Ownership in the HVAC-R industry are extremely common – so Tri-State’s program also introduces the student to successful business practices and skills associated with these positions. Safety and occupational health are very important features within the curriculum. Students learn safe work habits and are taught to maintain a clean, orderly work environment following standards based on OSHA guidelines. Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to take the Environmental Protection Agency’s Refrigerant Certification Test and the Industry Competency Exam (ICE), the HVAC-R industry standard for outstanding skill.
